Birthday Bash Tuesday

It has been a fantastic day at Catholic Youth Camp! We began our day with polar bear plunge, had breakfast, and headed to the chapel to start our morning of activities. We discussed our second C of the week, charity, during Holy Ground.

Our birthday celebration has been full of many gifts! This morning, after cabin activities, our campers went on a hunt for birthday presents. Each cabin found five wrapped presents around camp. After tearing open all of the gifts, each cabin found that one of the boxes contained a puzzle piece. The rest of the pieces were hidden around camp, and the first cabin to find all of their missing pieces will get ice cream! It could take a couple of days to find the last of the puzzle pieces, but our campers are on the hunt!

This afternoon, we had a beach party at the swim beach! The campers played games, danced to music, and swam. It was a beautiful day here at Catholic Youth Camp, and our campers loved cooling off in the lake. Even camp dog Olivia attended the party!

This evening, the entire camp gathered around the fire pit at friendship circle for an old tradition– the counselor show! Laughter filled the woods as our campers watched skits performed by our fantastic counselors! At the counselor show, the campers also performed their cabin cheers. The cabin spirit is amazing this week at CYC! The counselor show was especially sweet tonight! We roasted marshmallows for s’mores, and we even poured chocolate syrup on them!

After we ate our s’mores, we headed to the chapel to end our day with another amazing night of praise and worship.
