Olympic- Tuesday!

Another AWESOME day at CYC! We’re having so much fun!

This morning groups were busy with cabin activities- orienteering sports arts and crafts and more! The boys from J1 learned how to build a fire and then cooked bannock (delicious bread) over the fire. They were impressive in their outdoors skills and the bannock was a yummy morning snack!

Individual activities are going well. The drama groups are working hard to prepare for the talent show the dancers are dancing the fishers are catching and the swimmers are splashing! Everywhere you look around camp there are busy and excited kids.

This afternoon was an intense Olympic relay competition. Cabins competed in a variety of relays including moving an oreo from your forehead to your mouth without dropping it carrying a cotton ball on a spoon (made even more exciting by the wind) and several others. The best part of the whole afternoon was how much cheering and encouragement that everyone showed to each other. Winning and losing aren’t the focus but cheering always is!

After a delicious dinner flag lowering and lots of singing at praise and worship we headed down to the friendship circle for an Olympic themed campfire! Counselors did some skits some Olympic challenges and then we made s’mores! YUM!

A FANTASTIC day at CYC!

"What camp means to me is learning about God, making friends and having fun. But the most important thing is being yourself. We have lots of fun at camp. The counselors are great, the friends are nice, the themes are awesome, and the games rule! When I grow too old to come to camp I want to be a camp counselor, but for now, I will enjoy the fun at camp. See you this year!" - Josh
