Wednesday of Hawaiian Week

Today was such a great day!

We began the day with polar bear plunge and then it was time for breakfast (breakfast tacos).

Morning chapel was next (charity was the ‘C’ of the day) and then an hour of cabin activities. Cabins were canoeing, playing sports, working on arts and crafts, fishing, and swimming. At 11:30, we headed to the beach for a beach party. The weather this week hasn’t exactly been Hawaiian-like, but it was warmer today and many brave campers swam, even if the lake was a little chilly.

Lunch was pulled pork sandwiches, jojo potatoes, and green beans. Then it was off to our cabins for some rest time.

This afternoon was gorgeous sunny and a perfect day at camp. Canoers were out and about and drama was getting their act ready for the talent show. Archery was aiming, paddle boarders were paddling, and swimmers were swimming! It was a busy day!

Dinner was fetuccine alfredo with chicken, veggies and breadsticks. Did we mention that our cook made 500 breadsticks! Word around the dining hall was that the whole meal was “Olive Garden level good” and when it was time for seconds, there was a rush for breadsticks. And then some kids went back for 3, 4, up to 12 breadsticks (which we do not recommend!).

But the fun wasn’t over yet! After prime time (which includes games, camp store time, hanging out in the sky chairs, etc), it was time to head to the fantastic dance party! Crank up the music, turn on the disco ball, and let’s rock the roof off the dining hall!

After that it was time to raise the roof in praise and worship- singing so loud you could probably hear us across the lake!

It was a great day at camp!!

"What camp means to me is learning about God, making friends and having fun. But the most important thing is being yourself. We have lots of fun at camp. The counselors are great, the friends are nice, the themes are awesome, and the games rule! When I grow too old to come to camp I want to be a camp counselor, but for now, I will enjoy the fun at camp. See you this year!" - Josh
