 Military day!

Today is a very special day here at OPC McGregor: military day! Campers have been excitedly chatting amongst themselves all day about when they get to try out MREs hop in the tank for a quick ride try out the climbing wall or lean more about some neat military gear.

The day has really flown by! From nine a.m. until now campers have been participating in all of these fun activities led by the men and women of the Army and MN National Guard. It’s been loads of fun watching campers successfully climb atop the 35 foot wall and wave to their friends and siblings riding around the island in a tank.

Of course all of this is thanks to the generous military personel and before they head out campers will be giving them a very special thanks for their service!

All camp swim…

Just after cabin rest time (which will follow our military activities) campers will be given about an hour for an all camp swim. While they have been hydrating and putting sunscreen on all day there really is nothing like a dip in Big Sandy lake to take the body temperature down a few degrees. This will serve us well too since this evening is the ever-popular OPC dance party in Sweeney! Campers will need to keep cool in order to pull out some of their sizzling hot dance moves under the disco ball after dinner!

"What camp means to me is learning about God, making friends and having fun. But the most important thing is being yourself. We have lots of fun at camp. The counselors are great, the friends are nice, the themes are awesome, and the games rule! When I grow too old to come to camp I want to be a camp counselor, but for now, I will enjoy the fun at camp. See you this year!" - Josh
