Donation Acceptance Policy
CYC is deeply grateful for all donors who choose to invest in our mission. Because we are committed to making camp accessible to families, we rely not only on camper tuition, but also on charitable contributions and philanthropic support.
CYC welcomes donations from individual donors, foundations, grant-making organizations, and other nonprofit or philanthropic entities. In evaluating potential donations, CYC considers whether accepting a gift is consistent with our mission, values, and Catholic identity. CYC does not accept donations from organizations whose public mission, stated values, or activities meaningfully conflict with our mission or Catholic identity.
Donors may request that a gift be directed toward a particular program, ministry, scholarship, or area of CYC’s work. CYC may honor such requests when they are consistent with our mission, current priorities, and operational needs. However, all final decisions regarding the use of donated funds remain with CYC.
No donation or donor may influence CYC’s strategic priorities, governance, staffing, programming, or operational decision-making. CYC does not accept donations in exchange for services, preferential treatment, access, endorsement, or influence. Any services provided by CYC to a third party must be governed by a separate written agreement.
CYC reserves the right to decline or return any gift when, in its judgment, accepting the gift would create a conflict with CYC’s mission, Catholic identity, governance responsibilities, or the trust placed in CYC by the families and communities it serves.
